heater cable

Recommended Posts

recent test run to the coast and back seemed pretty warm despite it being an Oz summer.

The investigation revealed the heater control stayed full ON irrespective of the knob position.

Tried soldering (fail), then aralditing (fail) the outer cable to the knob cage.

Eventually discovered that the wire that does all the work was thicker than the hole in the shaft the knob moves. It had nothing to do with the outer cable.

Senior eyesight prolongs these discoveries.

Had to drill out the hole in the shaft before the heater wire would go in far enough to get grabbed by the lock nut.

Pretty small drill too. Luckily one that came with my arlec hand drill did the job.

I'll get out of your way now.
