Jersey Royal
Hi All, Whilst putting the engine back together today i noticed that the Rocker Pedestal Brackets are aluminium alloy. According to the manual Inlet clearance 0.010" Exhaust Clearance 0.012" Tiuring specs. Looked through the red book and found some info on these brackets. Briefly they were incorporated after TS.12564E, reason being ally higher degree of expansion when hot, enables the same rocker clearance to be used for exhaust valves as previously applied to inlet. This reduction will reduce tappet noise when the engine is cold So with the ally brackets inlet and exhaust should be 0.010" Will be interesting to see what the POs mechanics have done.
