Prambert
Hi All buoyed by the advice you offered on Classic Insurance I am now motivated to seek more advice! I pick up my (1st) TR4A on wednesday on the south coast and need to get it up to the north east - pushing 300 miles. It has been converted for unleaded juice. I have read somewhere that it is best to keep under 3000 rpm to avoid overhearting.... is this right? Part 2 - should I be thinking about any additives now & then? I have O/D on 3 & 4. Many thanks Phil
RogerH
Hi Phil, as the car is new to you keep the revs at/below 3000 for a while so you can hear what's going on. 3000RPM in O/D 4th = apprx 70MPH. If you hear any odd noises try and locate where they are whilst on the move. Vary the revs to try and identify what's going on. If it is Lead Free converted you shouldn't need any additives. Although some 'super' fuel won;t go a miss now and again. On a 4A you normally have O/D on 2, 3 & 4 gears. Roger
