anthonyjones
Hi, I have a TR6 and am running it on HS6 carburetors (ID tags FZX1263). Could anyone tell me the best needle type for performance and economy for these carburetors? Thanks in advance
johnny250
Very much depends on state of tune and ignition too. I was running BDM needles and plain springs (with fast road cam, extractor manifold and programmable ignition etc) that was a touch weak at the top end. Since fitting airbox and trumpets now run BAE needles and yellow springs.....if that helps as a starting point? some useful SU links.... http://www.teglerizer.com/sucarbs/index.html http://sw-em.com/su_carbs.htm http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/suneedle/ (this last one is a great program to see what's available when swapping from standard) john Edited July 1, 2011 by johnny250

nylen
Hi, Before I rebuilt my TR6 engine (from USA)I had changed to HS6 carbs to improve bhp. I tried different needles. I made an article in our Swedish Triumph TR Magazine. All technical articles from our club magazine are on our website but in Swedish. Here a direct link to that article. I think the diagram give some info so forget the text. An article about the same was published in TR Action no 158 Nov 1999 page 21. (In english of course.) http://www.triumphtr.com/drag2.htm
