Lovely day for a drive......but they've salted the roads already..

Now that the snow's gone and the salt washed away, took the 250 out for a 40mile run....I would like to say 'blast', but with all the traffic about, I had difficulty getting out of third gear...and this is in 'rural' Norfolk..... eventually managed to find a quick bit to clear the tubes though......

Trying to get the front stub axles out....... they have obviously been in for 40 years and will not budge.

I tried that Andrew, and a lump hammer....what it neede was a sharp couple of heavy taps on the SIDES of the taper housing (vertical link removed from the car)

plus gas, big lump of wood and very big hammer.... short sharp blows .... and have something to catch the bits like a towel round it all in the vice as they fly

Testing my rebuilt gearbox and overdrive with a quick sprint down to the Italian Lakes..... It's pi***ng down....but the box works well

Just got the old gearbox out of the car....i'm sure it would be quicker to lift the body off than undo all those bolts holding seats, tunnel, etc ! not to mention bashing my head on the numerous protruberences...... hope the new O/D+box goes in a bit easier.

Just finished rebuilding gearbox and overdrive....it will be easier next time! Now rigging a 2HP electric motor for the testing.
