Barnaby Roome
Hi, I have a 1973 TR6 PI with the original Lucas distributor system and recently checked the old green carbon ignition leads and found out they had variable resistivities with one appearing broken. I suspect this may have contributed to some variable engine behaviour I've had. I am going to replace the set, would anyone recommend one of the various high performance steel or copper conductor alternatives offered? Or will a new set of carbon leads give adequate performance and reliability for the original Lucas set up? Thanks, Barny Edited August 31, 2010 by Barnaby Roome
ianc
Nothing wrong with "old-fashioned" copper leads. Virtually indestructible, don't fracture, last for ever and inexpensive. The cable is available from the usual suppliers. Ian Cornish
