For any of you guys located in the West Country, are there any reputable V8 specialists in the West County, local to Bristol, who would be capable of tuning my TR8 properly with rolling road facility, able to perform corner weight check etc to set up suspension properly?

I have got as far as I can and it still isn't idling well.

Thanks

Hodgie

Oh and if anyone has a JWR manifold that is looking for a home, drop me a line.

Hi Hodgie,

I'm just outside Bristol and when I first got my TR7, I took it to a guy called Neil. He's out in Timsbury/Bath area. I don't know what equipment he's got with regards to rolling road and weight checks etc. but he's got a billion years worth of experience and I'm sure he'll either be able to help or give you a number of someone who can..

His number is 01761-472156

Tell him Donna (with the Midget and Karl with the yellow TR7) sent you...

Had mine tuned by Interpro in Thornbury a couple of years ago. Not specifically V8 specialists but they did spend a lot of time on it & seemed to know what they were about, even managing to cope with the Holley. Number's 01454 412777 if you want to give them a call.

I may be a little out of the way but I take my V8 racer to a guy in Birmingham. He has a rolling road on site and deals with all sorts of carbs, including my Holley.

He's got a great reputation in the industry and certainly does know his stuff, Highly recommended.

His details off Yell are as follows: -

Hi-Spec Motor Sport

Unit 8,Parker Industrial Centre 275-289, Watling St

Some time ago I tried Spamspeed who operates from a shed in an industrial estate in the Yate area. (tel 01454 228946)

He has a rolling road.

I watched as he dynamically tuned a friends 1930's single seat Amilcar-------quite an exciting and very noisy operation.

I would think he could help and he is very near.

Also he had a rebuilt sprint engine on his bench in the corner. He'd rebuilt it for someone who never came back for it several years ago and he now wants to sell it.
