Who can identify a TR3 gearbox nr B302551 with a low seated filling hole

Not a TR3 gearbox, methinks, even if it fits.

A Vanguard gearbox, perhaps?

(I seem to recall a recent thread referring to a B prefix gearbox)

Hi Badfrog,

One of the later Vanguard or Ensign boxes, difficult to tell from such a small photograph. There should be a part number cast in the casing, as well as the gearbox number itself, which will probably determine the origin.

If you can email a larger image I might have more luck !

Cheers,

Alec
