Guest ewanmc
My 76 fhc has steering wobble on breaking, untill about 20mph then its fine. Front brakes were renewed 1k ago any ideas?
Guest hodgie
You say you renewed the front brakes, did you renew the discs as it sounds like typical warped disc syndrome to me?
Guest ewanmc
thanks no just replaced the pads, oh well looks like some new disks for the motor
Guest hodgie
When you apply the brakes it's a very regular 'pulsing'. It's lesser at slow speeds due to the slower revolution of the disks
Andy Moltu
Sounds like the discs are warped.
Guest RVL
I agree with your other feedback - it sounds like warped discs. Have you used the ventilated type of discs? (sometimes supplied as uprated replacements for standard) which I think originated on the Austin Princess and are well known for warping! I'd also be interested on what alternatives are available as uprated replacements. Good luck
mikehardwick
RVL, S+S do a drilled and slotted replacement disc, and so do EBC (of Greenstuff pad fame). The name Tarox springs to mind as well. Mike
