Reliable quality engine parts

Recommended Posts

Could someone offer recent first hand experience on where to buy (not necessarily uprated for performance) parts of reliable quality for an engine rebuild? There's a similar but generalised thread running on the TR2 forum on quality of parts in case anyone's interested. JJC

I wonder if a better strategy would be to buy only recognized name brand parts like Hepolite, Timken, Payen etc, try and stay away from the no-name iffy stuff and work with the vendors that carry those parts ?. You may not find one vendor that carries everything you need or has everything in stock when you need it.

For anything else ask here for recent experiences with whatever it is because even with the no-name stuff there are often small outfits that specialise in that particular thing and have great reputations. Similarly it takes a while but eventually we figure out what junk to avoid but the situation is volatile so you need up to date info.
