Markus
I've recently purchased new side repeater lamps from Moss Europe but I'm not really happy with the chrome finish around the edges of each lense. The chrome is obviously applied to the inside face of the amber lense so it finishes up looking very yellow. I want to replace the cracked front indicator/park lenses but don't want the same look. Nice silver chrome as original would be nice but NOS pieces are rare as rocking horse poo and just as pricey. Have you seen the price of that stuff lately? Does anyone know of a better quality lense supplier? Mark 70 Damson PI

Richard Crawley
Both the original front & side repeater lenses had the chrome applied in exactly the same way, inside the lip. I have reproduction lenses fitted which I bought from the very first reproduction run many years ago (Moss in fact) but still have my originals & they look exactly the same. Chroming the internal lip does give it slightly different appearance to, say, the bumpers but it shouldn’t look yellow. I can only guess they have, yet again, compromised quality for the sake of shaving a little from the cost of production by adopting a different manufacturing process. Beware of any UK front lenses advertised as NOS. I’m sure they do still turn up but they were all but impossible to find many years ago let alone now; but that was before E bay! Side repeaters may still be around but be carefull.
Markus
Thanks for the advice. I'll check e-bay but it looks like a bit of a lottery. Maybe if I buy the rubbish front lenses they'll just look the same as the rubbish side lenses and nobody will notice. What a load of rubbish! Mark 70 Damson PI
