scv
Hi It appears that my Front pinion bearing has collapsed. There is a fair amont of play fore and aft and also up and down. Is this a job that can be done without the need of specialist tools? Looking at the manual it does seem to need a fair few different ones. I've looked at the gears and they 'look' ok but not reallly sure what I'm looking for anyway. There wasn't any debris in the oil so I'm hoping the crown wheel and pinion is ok. If it is best left to a specialist can anyone recommend someone in S Wales / Bristol area? Hope someone can help / advise Regards Steve
ianc
It's a bugger to remove and you need to ensure that it is re-located correctly so as to get the correct engagement with the crown wheel (else you'll wear both pinion and crown wheel out!). Probably best left to a specialist. Hhow far are you from Bridgwater as Revington is at Middlezoy, just east of there. Ian Cornish
