Electronic Ignition

Recommended Posts

I use a Pertronix in my D25 distributor at my race car.

Does work very fine in combination with a high power coil. The coil I use is a red Bosch with a separate resistor.

I would recommend the Aldon / Pertronix too (same company), very easy to fit and all hidden away. I also brought the flamthrower coil. I would recommend this company and they are much cheaper than the main dealers:

$78.40 Electronic Points

$41.50 Coil

Compared with

£67.95 Electronic Points

£52.74 Coil

You are buying from the UK, but they are an american company therefore you benefit from the exchange rate too.

PS. I have no connection with them.

Hi all,

As a follow-up on the subject, I'd like to know what setting has been chosen by 123-Ignition users on this forum.

My personal experience with a sprint 88 cam on a 2187 engine is:

5 : lacks advance at low revs

6 : seems OK

7 : seems slightly better than 6 before 3000 rpm and equal above

8 : too much max advance

What do you say?
