This is what the inside of the slip ring looks like

It fits the upper portion of the steering column and does not rotate...the LT/RT?horn and blinker wires from the body are attached here and soldered each to its own ring. The larger female portion has spaced copper spring plungers that that ride on each ring.

It is attached to the upper hollow inner rotating column and the wires from the control head exit at the first coupler and are fed into the unit nad secured.

 

I just did this Bastuck kit and it is a very nice unit....turn with the finger tips now
