Hello all

 

The car is a mid 72 cp tr6 it is fitted with a steering lock / ignition it is also wired for

Ignition key on the dash as per photo. I was thinking of putting an engine start button there any other suggestion’s would be welcome

How about just reverting it to the earlier setup with the ignition in the middle ?. I find the steering lock setup irritating and borderline rediculous anyway. When people add starter buttons, where do they get them from and what provides the security, is that contolled by the standard ignition switch ?

Totally agree Stan but removing it could have issues with insurance

I have the ignition switch in the centre of the plinth and a Richbrook Engine start button in the place of the Rheostat.

When the ignition is turned to first postition the button can be pressed and engine should start. It wont start unless key is in ignition.
