Hi all

got to the handbrake stage in my project. Just need to know is it ok to repair this 'break' on my lever?

I was also going to replace ratchet and pawl.

Anything I have to watch out for, or is it straight forward?

Difficult to see from the photo but I would have thought that should weld ok. Just make sure it doesnt pull to one side when welding otherwise it will be difficult to fit.

I agree with Stuart it should weld OK providing the chroming hasn't come too far down the handle.Othewise a bit of filing will get you back to clean metal to weld to.

Re-assembly straight forward with blobs of grease in the appropriate places.Check the operation before taking to the car for fitting.Remember the operation of the fly off handbrake is the opposite to normal (it had me totally confused for days when I did my restoration, not having driven a TR4 ).
