tr7 trans removal

I've done this on my driveway with the car on stands. Just be careful of the weight of the gearbox and note that whilst it came out quite easily it will be a real b*gger to get back in. Not a one man job.

I agree with Malcom, definately not a one man job putting it back in, but can be done.

I must have done this on my own about 4 times, twice in a cramped lock up & it isnt easy. Put a trolley jack under gearbox to lower it & lift into position - you need to get it at roughly the c of g so that it balances - best bet is to have a helper!.....or, as i was thinking, build a small craddle to securely locate gearbox to trolley jack.
