Rhodri Posted July 13, 2007 Report Share Posted July 13, 2007 Electrics are not my strongest point, however, if you mean that you are testing with the trailer on then you normally need a new flasher unit capable of taking the extra indicator lights on the trailer. If this is happening with no trailer, then re-check your connections, especially the earths. If you have a Halfords, or better still, a towbar fitting place, they can probably sell you a heavy duty flasher unit. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Andy Moltu Posted July 14, 2007 Report Share Posted July 14, 2007 You need a heavy duty flasher unit - the standard ones are upset by the reduced resistance that additional bulbs attached to the indicator circuit produce - hence the rapid flashing. jonlar Posted July 14, 2007 Report Share Posted July 14, 2007 The old original type are worked by a bi-metal strip which heats and bends (higher wattage = more heat = quicker operation and why a blown bulb slows them down), with a contact breaker point - it needs to be replaced with electronic type.
