I need to buy a rear hub assembly and as all the usual suspects sell them it would be nice to know where the quality units come from.

So if you have brought some and are satisfied with the quality and price it would help me decide to where I spend my hard earned.

Hi Barry,

I second what Alec says, TR Enterprises quoted me £221 + VAT (each) for new standard hubs which I thought very reasonable. They also do new uprated hubs.

I would avoid reconditioned exchange hubs if at all possible.

You are right to be careful - there is some real rubbish around. Its almost as if some of the 'rebuilders' just repaint them and put them back on the shelf!

I got my last recon one from TR Enterprises at Malvern last year - quite a lot cheaper than usual and OK so far.

BTW - read previous posts on how to fit it if you haven't done one before. Its a lot easier than the manual says!

Thanks a lot chaps,I did not want to regret buying one and later finding out it was substandard.

Since my last post a friend has come to the rescue with an old original unit,he only had that because he had new units when his six was converted to a V8.

I have done a search and I will try to make my own puller so I can recondition them myself and if that fails I can contact TR Enterprises and spend my money wisely.

I understand a few years ago a small specialist from West Midlands area sold recon and crack tested hubs at Malvern but he has not been there for at least 3 years. Does anyone else do them including crack testing?

Bought some new uprated ones from Racetorations end of last year.

top notch stuff. May be slightly more expensive but quality. (I think they worked out at about £250 each side).
