jstone
Hi All, On Friday I had the pleasure of a Land Rover and Trailer reversing into the front of my TR6. Luckily (not sure why it is lucky ?) there was not too much damage with only 2 popped headlights, smashed indicators / side lights, a slightly damaged grill and a scufffed bonnet edge. Basically because of the height of the trailer it missed teh bumper and body work and the driver stopped when he heard the lights breaking. I am having problems locating a TR specialist that does not have a 2 month backlog and that is fairly local. My question is : Has anyone made a claim and then been allowed to cost, quote and do the work to their own car and if so what is the process ? Many Thanks Jeremy
BryanD
Some years ago when I was running an old banger, someone ran into the back of me. The garage quote for repair was £500. I simply told the Insurer I'd settle for £400 and they coughed up straight away. I carried on running the car for another year (complete with dent etc) before it went to the scrappie. Its the Loss Aduster's job to save the Insurer money - if you offer him a way of doing this easily, and if the liability wasn't in dispute, I doubt he would refuse.
