Personally, I rather like cars to reflect their age,
Andrew,
I presume the same does not apply to women
-
Rob, I think the Red Funnell line only goes to the Isle of Wight, so its a long swim from there to Jersey, especially with a TR4A on your back
-
Noel, You can write to the DVLA and ask for a copy of the Keeper history of the car. I think it costs £ 5-00.
They will send a you a copy of the details they have on microfilm.

Hi Peter, Other venues to look at would be Belvior Castle, Caulk Abbey, or Thoresby Hall.
Have a word with Ian Viles, Trent Group Leader, I know he has investigated some of them and we had a visit to Caulk Abbey the other year who made us very welcome and designated a seperate car park for the cars.

Hi Peter
Count me in as well

Mike,
Compare prices with those of John Skinner or Prestige Hoods. Moss will I think only have bought in from suppliers like them.

Eli, Have you checked your radiator cap ? My 6 always used to leak when the car was facing downhill, seems the thin rubber seal on the rad cap was missing. Changed to a new cap and no leaks thereafter. Funnily enough, my girlfriend lives on a hilll as well.
I run Pirelli P6000 195 x 65 tyres and find them excellent, about £ 50 each

Rob I smell a rat somewhere, you came 2nd, Carl came 3rd, was the winner another neighbour of yours ?

Brian, Not long ago I picked up a door mirror to try and match the one on the drivers door, It was matt black and had been coated on top of stainless steel. As for bullet mirrors I find them useless and have changed over to rectangular on both cars

When I saw that it reminded me of my mother-in-law...
Well Rick, I just hope she doesn't log on to this forum then or you could be in trouble.

Hi Jean, beg to differ with you on this one. I find that the A type overdrive on both my TR4 & TR5 are smoother than the J type was on my TR6. I always engage the overdrive under acceleration and dis engage on overrun
but never use the clutch. If I engage the overdrive on the TR5 whilst not under acceleration it does give a kick
so I go for the smoothest way

At least you have a garage big enough to house them all in

I've heard of a Mountain bike, but a Mounting bike is new to me - what do you do, give it one ? Or does it have some padded accessory for 'er indoors to lean on ?
Cheers,
Alec
Nice one Alec, I must admit that similar thoughts passed through my mind when I read Harry's post.

I am suprised it survived a 600 mile tow back on the buggy.

According to Bill Piggot's book Original Triumph some North American distributors got a live axle TR4A for their specific market ( see page 12 of the book )
The details have now been revised to manual gearbox
-
First thing I did on my TR4 was fit a servo, its the best and cheapest improvement I have made to the car.

Hi Laurent,
I bought my TR6 from Richard Larter who runs Balfron Sports Cars 01360 440921.
He is situated in Balfron about 20 miles north of Glasgow and close to Loch Lomond
He knows Triumphs quite well and is the Scottish Group Co-ordinator for the TR Register.
If you get into any problems I feel sure he would be pleased to help
Have an enjoyable trip

I use Halfords Classic 20/50 and it seems fine. It came out very well in a recent Practical Classics Oil Product test.
