Hurrah!

Very interesting about the prv making a real difference to starting.
the ONLY thing i dont like about my 6’s motor is the excess of cranking required after a layup of a week or more so i might try one of the diaphragm prvs
thanks for the info Dave

I’m down on Sapphire today working on a couple of issues with the engineers from Princess
Winds seem to have peaked at about 55kts sustained and 70kts gusts, wich is about 60/80 mph and an F10. sapphire was very stable throughout
The same could not be said for sail boats in the marina which were tossed about like toys In their berths. A few torn canopies but otherwise they all seem ok.
here’s the local wind graph :

Well time ticking by and I need to make sure I get the car is good shape to ensure max use when the sun comes out.
Having established that 3 of the injectors empty themselves overnight, I think that has to be my starting point.
So I have acquired a full set of refurbished injectors from Prestige Injection that I intend to fit over the weekend.
Good luck!
i recommend filling each injector with fresh fuel before connecting it to the line and inserting in the manifolds, this greatly reduces cranking for the first start

I would definitely install an air-air heat pump (airco); This will have an efficiency 3 to 5 times that of conventinal electric heaters and IR panels.
This is what i have in my workshop and it is excellent
heats efficiently in the winter, even when nearly freezing outside, and cools in the new global warming summers :-)
i dont have current measuring equipment but it is 12kbtu which is the same as the smaller unit on Sapphire which draws 4amps, ie about 1kw to deliver 3kw of heat.

The Halfords Calcium battery on my TR6 is in it’s 10th year and still going strong.

Could the device be used to provide a ‘slow start’ to reduce initial current load?
ie when the computer decides to start the fan it initially provides power via the resistor to reduce startup current then after a few seconds ( once the motor is spinning) the computer switches out the resistor and the fan spins up to full speed?

Thanks Rich, looks like they did sell?
steve

Thats a bargain Rich as is the bosch 996 pump
i need an air bleed / idle valve which i see fitted on the manifolds, would you separate if they dont sell?

As Waldi says.
perhaps post a photo to show us the problem?, as i’m struggling to imagine it!

When installing the relay and heavy gauge positive wire for my bosch pump i also ran a heavy gauge negative wire back to the battery so as not to rely on ‘grounding’ to the body.
ive traced a lot of intermittent electrical faults on TRs to dodgy earthing, notably the rear lights but other items also
hence i thought a dedicated 0v return path wouldn’t hurt

Great to see you made it to the water today Steve, and the TR's running well.
Would that be the distinctive profile of a Princess 43, at the far end of the pontoon?
Deggers
Fortunately yes, she was still where i moored her !

Oooh, wonder if there will be a dry one ….. :-o

Wow, great photos Deggers
i’m contemplating taking the 6 to the coast tomorrow…… but doubt we can match your photos !

Haha Deggers
or they didnt bother with traffic reporting as there was no traffic!

Does it have live traffic updates?

Hi Mike
sorry but i don’t have any spare injectors

Are you looking to buy a new set outright or have an existing set refurbished ?

series/parallel connection of the squab and back pads which would give two levels of heat
That’s an ingenious idea Rob !

As an alternative to blocks of wood you can employ an adjustable clamp or two to control piston exit
i extract the pistons using the master cylinder before i disconnect the hydraulics, but air would work too
attached should give the idea, its a motorbike but the principle is the same
