Sorry but I have no idea how far the sidescreen projects beyond the frame. I would assume that front of the sidescreen just touches the stanchion?

I believe that all TR2's had push/pull switches for the overdrive. I only came across the 'egg' shaped overdrive switches on 3A's?

Hi Dave ~
Another aid to positioning your stanchions would be to fit the sidescreens to the doors inorder to get the correct rake for the stanchions.
Coupled with your hardtop this would be an ideal starting point.

Hi David ~
Glyptal paint is both oil and petrol resistant. It provides a smooth surface which helps oil to drain away from the inside of engine blocks
and alloy sumps. It does prevent any porosity in alloy components. I also coated the inside of my alloy rocker cover.

Try places like TR Bitz, TR Shop, Revington amongst others. See all the TR suppliers in TR Action.
They usually have plenty of dismantled parts at reasonable prices.
No help with carriage however!

A friend of mine who is a TRR member has a TR3A. I tuned the engine up for him some time ago. I found a few non-standard parts in the SU's which I removed.
He tells me that the TR is using excessive fuel. Is it possible that someone fitted .125 jets inorder to 'improve' the performance?
I never checked this when I set the car up. I set the carbs. up with Colortune and got a true Blue flame.

Have you got an earth lead from the engine to the chassis? Your 'warm' choke cable would indicate that you have a poor engine earth.
