You are absolutely right Andy although I didn’t mention those, now that they’re out of the bag, a sneaky visit perhaps, hopefully not.
You, as an avid walker known the enjoyment one gets from sight seeing. It’s clear people want to enjoy the countryside and as a result there is some deterioration, but most people realise that hence paths and stick to those that have been formed over the years. That damage has been done, asking people to stay to these would be better than stay away. I accept that if people stop it will soon return back to nature, but clearly people will continue to explore and perhaps further damage will undoubtedly occur. At least Wistmans Wood keeps the like of us from seeking the alternative.

They were there, in fact two decided to attack each other feathers flew. If you look carefully you will see them all over the ground.
-
That sounds grate Paul, you will have a good time if this year was anything to go by.

Wistman's Wood, the eldest remaining Oak wood on Dartmoor I believed once covering a large part of the moor. We went there after joining Dave Burgess our Chairman and Wayne Scott our PR officer at Badgers holt, during the 48 hour round Britain run, 23 years after the same cars took part all those year earlier. Lovely day finished off with a pint and packet of crisps, zero alcohol of course, at two bridges, thankfully I just had one hour trip home. Unlike Dave and Wayne.
PS. spot the TR

I’m beginning to come round to his way of thinking improving air quality for Londoners and for me when I go to London in my TR6 can’t be bad, Getting polluting cars off the road can’t be a bad thing either and it’s clearly working. It seems loads of people are parting with their polluting vehicles just like my sister in Law getting rid of her Old Ford, for a new petrol MG as has my niece. Supporting local businesses while increasing imports here, helping the Chinese economy and likely increasing inflation here in the UK.
It could even will help businesses and China in the future, should they be required to sell those, to purchase a mandated electric battery driven vehicles, thereby providing ongoing work for those underpaid individuals mining lithium in far away countries and help with that countries ability to fund there interest payments as they are currently heavily financed by China as is the rest of the world it seems. For those that can’t afford replacing there unhealthy vehicles, well London has an excellent bus and underground network, so they can use that, they shouldn’t be overly effected by the dangerous levels of Co2 in underground’s as they will be use to high levels of Co2 when driving in their air polluting vehicles. Plus look at the savings they will make, not having to buy fuel, Insurance and motor tax, now each individual family members will be using the cheap London transport available surely a win win situation as I see it.

Well it’s if someone organised it, it’s possible that the public against what’s going on will wish to take a leaf out off just stop oil, perhaps they will feel the need to protest, do slow walks or 5 mile an hour drive through cities. Some might want to write to your MPs daily maybe twice a day. Even email them, some may feel the need to attend or picket their constituency office to make their point of view known. Depends how annoyed they are.

I have always thought voting for anything other than the larger parties is a wasted vote. I have always voted between those, selecting the one that I felt would most likely do the best for the country. Today I can’t honestly say there is one.
Perhaps if there was a party with which I share views, even though I believed it’s was highly unlikely they’d get a majority. If I just felt there was a good chance they’d take enough seats to be able to stop the looney undemocratic laws, like those recently debated. Those that will criminalise many of their normally law biding constituents.
I’ll take that risk. I say risk, is it, with this crowd perhaps the risk is not to.

I have had TR’s since 1973 my latest TR7 for 25years and the TR6 for 15. If they are looked after, I find wax oiled helps the body work last, but metal rusts and onward maintenance will be needed, you will have onward costs so be aware. But the enjoyment of owning and driving them for me makes it worth it, not that my wife agrees. Something you might wish to consider is insurance, many insist it’s garaged sometimes it depends on value, post codes or both whether that’s applicable. Seek out one that suits you needs

Whats bonkers is sitting back and letting it happen without making those taking decisions that will affect you, the value of your home, the financial costs to you, even your way of life, aware of your thoughts, not saying anything where it might count. How many of you have written to your MP, explaining your displeasure. Stand up or shut up would be my father’s words. Make you feeling known where it might have an effect.
-
Perhaps it was just decided against at that time, venues, the cost, minimal support. Maybe it’s time now if enough members want it and are happy to pay for it.

Ii would go as far as to say this is bad for road safety. It can actually be difficult to drive at that speed unless you keep your eyes glued to the speedo rather than to the road where they ought to be, particularly in town. My slush-box automatic car has no engine braking at slow speed, so like George's neighbour I would be riding the brakes too.
Absolutely, watching the speedo as much as the road can’t be ideal, even the cruise control at 20 struggles to maintain it. It’s may be ok if you have the speed projected on the screen but, in my TR6 no chance. Love renting a property and driving the TR in Wales too. it’s time to look elsewhere I guess.
Newton Abbot had similar plans the residents had their say and it was squashed. Here in our village they they have implemented the 20 on safety ground to save lives, we had a similar response to Paul when ask how many death or serious injuries in the village over the last 10 years none. I accept it around the village school. Mind you the local buses including the school bus clearly don’t respect it.
Where did you drive to with your TR today
