Bob I need a relay between the thermo and fan?
Nick

Ok ,I've made the fan come on with the temp sensor in the metal lower pipe but not wired in a override switch,
I've made a little loom with two wires with connectors both ends from the temp sensor I've connected the brown wire to one side then the fan live to the other, then earthed the fan ,I have a spare connector on the temp switch sensor can I use that for a switch?
Nick
The fan comes on at 3/4 on the temp
gauge.

Hi all hope ur all enjoying the weather and getting the cars out.
I did take the car out but it got very hot in traffic, not boiling but close .
I've got an electric fan here with two wires, I am fitting a thermo switch which has 3 terminals and would like to fit a override switch just in case the thermo switch decides not to work.
I remember having a extra wire fitted in the loom for a fan and have found that which is live when the ignition is on, if anyone can help I would be most grateful .

Hi Barry I used the LHD cable which is 69 inches long, out of the speedo into the bulkhead, there is a hole just under the carbs which I put the speedo through, I put two p clips along the inner edge of the floor pan where the gearbox cover fits on top, then put it under the gearbox mount up into the gearbox.

Hi all I pulled the pinion and the cable end had broken off and I can not get it out ,I phoned Helen and Ray and they said they have a few over drives with the pinions in place, I went there and some are white blue and red, mine was blue with 18 teeth ,the white has 17 and the red 19 ,how do you know which one is for a j type gearbox in a tr6 as any one would fit.
Kind regards

Hi all , took the car out and noticed the speedo wasn't working ,I took off the speedo cable and it wasn't turning ,I pulled the cable from the j type gearbox and the cable was all chewed up, (no angle drive fitted )

Hi all ,I am thinking of trying a sealed water system by having a vw overflow sphere mounted higher than the rad with a metal pipe welded on the thermostat housing then a rubber pipe going to the bottle which has two pipes ,so one in one out with the bottom one going in the rads bottom hose, I will need to block the overflow from the rad. ,my reason is on tick over it gets hot very quick ,my fan comes on so no problem but the guys who tuned my webers recommend I do it,
Any one done it ?
Regards

Not sure it's my eyes but the reversing lights are not in the same position both sides, in saying that you couldn't build one for that money.

When I had the car site we come across cat b,s ,the sellers would repair them tax it then sell them but dvla wouldn't release the log book, I only ever got one over turned when the car squad from Chalk Farm inspected it ,
It's much easier if you get the salvage back home then you have a chance ,but keep firm , its your car and will take less money plus the salvage.
Good luck

Peter most important thing to have is a recovery service in place ,plus the obvious service parts ,cable ties, some wire, small Jack ,petrol pipe, tape, assortment of tools, I am sure you can be the most prepared as possible but there is the possibility of anything breaking ,,where do you stop clutch spare diff etc
But you also have the Tr register members who can be a great help so the internet is a must.
Good luck

Michael I put on my xk150 two weeks ago had over 4500 views ,One turned up to see it and he did buy it putting in a last minute bid,eBay attracts people looking for a bargain but some genuine bidders are out there .
If you have the space put it back on there end of April it will sell.
