I would also recommend a 4 post lift but you need headroom if you want it to go up to full height.

Hi Mick, I have a four post almost identical to your's only my garage is not as long. Don't you find it a drag lifting the ramps on and off to allow the car onto the ramp! they a very heavy. i have thought about trying to hinge them someway but not found a solution yet.

This looks like much effort but it is not and it solves the problem of the gearbox angled in the frame automatically.

Sometimes it's the best to let all tools stored and give the thoughts a free run.

    Ciao, Marco

Quite right Marco. We say it’s best to take a step back and have a glass of wine and think. It can work wonders.

I have a Pioneer system bought in the 80s with record deck,2 cd players and count them 2 cassttee players. Hows that for upto date modern eh.

  4. I think the message do you want to sign in etc is appearing on most if not all YT viewers. they are trying to get more people to register/post/ PAY for certain things. I just keep saying no. And yes it is driving me mad also!!!

This is a really good read. Always fancied rebiulding an engine (I actually have a spare) but after reading this I'm not sure I have that skill. I do have access to a lathe (a big one) but most Knowledge with watch making lathes.

It's a great write up Bob and I'm learning a lot (some of which is just how difficult this is). But it's clear you have a keen eye for detail. Keep the reports coming.

    Thanks,

hope this is not an endless and boring story to you, if it is, please be gentle with me.

You must be joking Marco! I am certain that I am not the only one fascinated by your skills and vision to be able to attempt this project. Each posting is like an advent calendar awaiting the next day to see what chocolate you have.:D keep it coming.

Mine mounted further back it's butted up against the rear shelf. There is a small tab on the rear shelf that it screws to. The lens points forward. IMG_1027.thumb.jpg.97f1f21a0478ebfb1c4494950b810d2d.jpg

Are the benefits of the light(and I can’t see any-no pun intended) outwaying the fact it looks easy to break Were it is.Especially with extra baggage for longer trips?.
