I believe it was the italian air force who first specialized in planes that could go backwards very quickly
I'll get my coat.

Great stuff Marco many like myself have been following this, not only with interest but admiration for your problem solving skills. Very glad it has all worked out. You deserve some kind of award for your efforts but I suppose the fact it works is a great reward in itself. Top marks old chap top marks.

I believe it burns not only hotter but faster like you have got a petrol leak!

.. I thought this looked really neat with its low hard-top
Bumpers off, spot lamps recessed, guard but no anti-roll bar.
Reckon your pressed steel wheels would look better, but their hub caps would fling off in rallying so they've got to go. And then all you need to do is to drive through muddy puddles wearing a leather scull cap and goggles for the full effect

Thats a mean looking motor, definately appeals.

Malcolm, When I changed mine I bought what is best described as a heat shield bag which fits over the starter protecting it not only from heat but road muck/moisture as well. Should you ever need to drain the block for cleaning sludge etc, it will also protect from this as the drain tap/hole is very adjacent to the starter.

Always a wise policy if you are working there anyway.

Lets hope it stops better than it starts!! looks pretty nifty, no wonder you want to drive it.

check your earth connections. They may look ok but loosen them and give a clean, you may be surprised.

Sorry no thoughts on your re-design ideas, just like to say its a cool looking car already.

Thanks Steve, never seen/noticed it before.

Looks great Tim. Just a question-the brake fluid looks Pink? is that right or just a trick of the light.

Thanks Tim. When I checked that number it did not come up with anything? I wonder where it is now.

Hi All, I have had this poster on my garage wall for a long time now as it is were my TR5 originated from. I have always meant to check the reg shown LOU158F to see if it was correct or not. It currently comes back to a yellow Morris. Maybe someone sold it to a Guy called Lou?. Just in case anyone remembers having it and did not know it was on a poster.

a dipstick test indicated about 100mm of petrol from the tank bottom,
could you have knocked the float whilst dipping? may have bent it someway. Just a thought.

Not at the moment Stuart, but I have had in the past and like you had to mess about and use something else until it rectified itself.

A ****ing mess was the first thing that sprang to mind Each to his own though we can't all like the same or there would only be 1 car manufacturer-Triumph naturally.

Are the injectors the same design? hard to tell from the photo but they look different. I have I think seen injectors with no tip just some small holes! (or did I dream that).

Thanks all..... I'm getting it recored! You can't argue with all that imput.
Today I had my tyres fitted to the restored wire wheels, my new seats arrived and my cylinder head, which I initially was told was cracked, came back having had new guides and valve seats fitted.
So we're on the up! Just need Moss to get their fingers out with my many back orders.
Cheers chaps!
Hi Colin, all sounds good. Don't forget to post some pics for the guys to see as and when.

Hi Mike, looks very like mine. Can I suggest you add a copy of Moss parts catalogue , as depending were you are it is sometimes easier to point to the picture of the part you need instead of trying to explain. You never know when and where you might break down.
