  1. Looks like I need to do some more investigation in to the servo as mine was on the car when I got it all works well, does as it should when being tested no problems when I bleed the brakes but what is being said is that the white part should not be on the top!

  2. Morning Pete, there’s always something in the way when you try to make it look good under the bonnet, all you can do is install and clip it away for moving objects. Have a look at you + cable from battery on the fixing bar for the battery.
as my photo there’s always something in the way.

  3. Good time to flush that heat out if you have some long hose to connect and hang it out of the drives door, on the steering rack I was advised to get this type of rack mounts with the mileage we do, bit pricey but there is no chance the rack will move. It’s good your doing you photos and posts we all need a helping hand at times, I am going to look a my heater hoses tomorrow I think there ok but but not checked for a while.

  4. Afternoon Pete, looking like your getting your water problem sorted, as you have no antifreeze in yet looking at all that crud from your pipe work I would take out the radiator not much of a job, and give it a good clean out by shaking it around with water and radiator cleaner you get more crude out doing it this way than just flushing with a hose pipe. I would also disconnect the heater hoses and flush that out both way but with not to much pressure.

  5. Paul this may not help but as you have no give in the hinges are you door rubbers stopping you from closing the doors correctly, just remove the door rubbers and check the door closes as it should, I had this problem when I put new door seals on last year, in the end I cut a small amount or rubber off on each side at the bottom of the B post.

  6. Morning Pete, this is probably not going to help as fact but this subject has been around for quite some time what is the correct cap for tr4a. Some say 4 others say 7 all I can say is that Brenda has a 4lb cap and we don’t seem to have a problem, the original one that I had with the car is also a 4lb cap and that one is in the boot as one of the many small bits I carry round.

  7. Pete how much water have you in you radiator, my tr only had water up to top side of the fins inside the radiator if I filled it up to the top it would push it out into the overflow bottle, it my be you have to much in.

regarding the oil filter if you have the old paper filter and you are having no problem with it why change it,

  8. Pete a good day work, but before  you put your antifreeze in see if you can get the water tap off on the drivers side of the block just above the starter, water should flow from this, if not get a welding rod or similar and have a poke around to see if water flows, this tends to got blocked if water is not changed regularly.
