Hi does anyone have the specifications for the Overdrive Relay (TR4A)?
Ideally with a link ;-)
Thanks

Thanks, and damn!!

Very simple question, are they "handed" or can you swop them over?
thanks

Thanks guys - taken off the vent and getting it colour matched! - we live and learn :-)

Just done quite a bit of body repair, and have found out that when my TR4 A was resprayed a few years ago it was not in Wedgwood Blue - it was also not in Powder Blue - well not Triumph's powder blue anyway, it's a blue in-between!
Still rust is fixed and Car is more ...... characterful
seriously though does anyone know where in the Milton Keynes area I can get the paint colour analysed so I can re[spray it the correct colour (whatever that was?)
Thanks

Little bit of a basic question - but what relay (s) are people using?

Just fitted the 123 programmable unit to my TR4A - whilst expensive £270 ish it is a marked improvement on my car - which I also thought was running pretty well - has cleaned the delivery up, much improved the pick up (especially when warm rather than hot).
Being a bit of a geek it's quite interesting to play with the programming and see what effect it has, and if I decide to tune the engine I can just load a different set of curves t suit any changes.
As an aside I now understand vacuum advance :-)

Thanks Clive :-)

My TR4A's O/D engagement has decided to become increasingly intermittent. (always disengages perfectly)
Pretty sure it's a problem in the electrical side of the engagement.
What is the best process for fault finding through the system? I'm assuming that most of it can be done with a multimeter? (or is that ridiculously naive!)
Thanks

Hi Frank,
if you are enquiring about EPAS because the steering is heavy have you ruled out the steering/suspension geometry and tyres making it heavy.
I recently sorted all four corners of my 4A and the difference it made was incredible.
I've been driving it for 17 years pointing the wrong way.
Now that it points and drives forwards it is very good and quite light. Even at low speed it is fine.
I have a 13" steering wheel

Hi Roger
Is there a easy TR4 "Ideal" geometry sheet somewhere - also is it easy to sort - my rear end seems to have a lot of toe-in is that usual?
thanks

Hi All
Apologies for the rather vague post, but how should a decent (bog standard) TR4A front end feel.
Not having driven, non assisted steering for 20 years and never wire wheels, I don't know if the feeling of vagueness or "Flex" is just how it should be.
How true is it around the straight ahead - how much self centring is normal?
Trying to assess if I need to look at it (bearings and everything else feels fine in a "wobble test") or whether a 50 year old car just "feels like that"
thanks

Looking at the "Concors" car above I notice it has the same odd mis-match of instruments that my '65 does - i.e. All instruments are Jaeger except the Ammeter that is Lucas - is that the same for all TR4A's or just that the Ammeter regularly failed and was replaced by a Lucas model?

Hi All! First Post just picked up a '65 TR4 A
Rather surprised to find it's positive earth as everything I read seemed to say it should Negative.
My question is how easy is it to convert to Negative earth and what's involved?
Thanks
Nick

Can this be substituted for a more modern alternative relay? (if so which)
as I assume that progress in electronics would make newer models more reliable?
