The price of the Vitesse conversion is a killer.
-
As Marco commented....We need more pics if you require an opinion on the buy option.
-
I cannot comment on price as I am in Australia, but seems overpriced with problems.
Notable problems...Front RHS wing does not fit correctly...Body front appears to be twisted...This is a major fault.
Damage to inside door top front....how and why?
Outer sills may have been poorly replaced.
Front wing has been previously damaged at the bottom...contour not right.
LHS rear door gap wide at the top.
BUYER BEWARE.

I had 195/65/15's on my car, but changed to 165/80/15.
Steering/parking at low speed is much easier now...I would recommend the above.
-
On reflection, I agree with Stuart's comments on the B post, rather than a chassis issue.
-
Stuart's assessment is valid....Measure the current width between the fender/wing SS beads, or any other reference point close to the B posts, and get back to us.
-
Mechanically it may be fine.
The worrying issue is the body condition, panel gaps etc....I would be embarrassed to drive that car with those panel gaps....The LHS is the worst...Chassis condition is also problematic....I cannot imagine why someone could leave the body in such condition.
Assuming all the mechanicals are sound, you would have to budget for another 10K plus to bring the body to a nice standard....Panel work on the doors and wings, plus a respray.
Bottom line....be prepared to spend a lot of money on restoration.
-
Certainly a problem there.
You need to get the car on a hoist if you can to check all the body bolt down points for alignment and the symmetry of the chassis.
Let us know what you find and we can then advise further.

I am impressed with your interior...Skinners?
-
Ok for a price..but has many flaws.
Especially poorly fitted repro sills.
-
Another option is to fit a 2 into 1 collector to the exhaust flange [deleting the twin pipes], and have a SS system custom made at an exhaust workshop.
-
I would dump the wire wheels on "safety" issue alone.
Hard to beat the "minilite" look.
-
Cannot imagine that anyone would fit a non OD gearbox in an OD car.
Although not original, the J type is a more refined OD, and more readily available.
Unless you look under the car, no one would know the difference.
Whether it is worth the cost of the upgrade is another consideration.
-
Same colour as the body always looks best.
-
Good looking body.....Did you fit uprated springs?
-
Have you considered changing to the TR6 system with brake booster etc.
-
Plus one on Stuart's comment about door closure problems at the "B" post triangle area with the full bubble.

Measure the depth of the head and go to Goodparts website that will tell you how to get what you want
Thanks, I have seen the GP data sheet, I am now convinced that all their figures are fairly accurate.

Yes just what I need, thank you. That is a very good website.

Assuming zero deck height with 0.040 overbore of cylinders.
If I want a CR of 10.0 then what do I need in practice in way of actual cylinder head combustion chamber volume and/or gasket thickness.
Would I be correct in assuming that the "Quish Zone" volume on the bathtub design of the combustion chamber does not have any measurable effect on compression ratio.
-
John......As a matter of interest, did you take the whole top of bonnet down to bare metal and apply rust converter etc. etc. before applying primer.....And what primer did you use?
-
May be a good idea to have the rims tested for any runout before the final paint.
-
Having difficulty opening the pics on my computer....Not keen on installing a new application.
Is the surrey top hard or soft....If hard is it an aftermarket fibreglass one.
I believe the TR6 door glass may be different to the TR4.
-
I suggest checking how much free space you have under the bottom of the radiator...If there is sufficient space, then your easiest recourse to the problem is to modify the mounting tabs on the sides of the radiator.
