Thanks for your replies guys, interesting reading..
It sounds like you could have viewed this very TR6, I assume somebody had done ‘a repair on it’ but not a proper rebuild
The TR2 was an ‘insurance write off’, but the existing owner bought it back and then repaired it over several years. He loved the car and kept it from 1962 to 1978.
The TR6 buried his drivers door into the rear passenger wing of the TR2 on the roundabout.

Hi, I have attached a photo of an accident damaged TR6 with partial number plate visible. Story goes that the TR6 owner decided to race the PO of my TR2 (Trevor Hudgell) out of the Canley Factory gates at home time and they came together on a roundabout somewhere nearby..This was sometime in 1975.
I wonder if the TR6 owner is still about and remembers the sorry saga? Was the TR6 repaired or sent to the car graveyard in the sky?Regards

How do you actually value a TR250 to TR5 spec conversion car? It’s always going to be a TR250 by commission number (in this case).

I believe it changed to ‘open to offers around £38k’ after the auctioned closed…

Same Red TR5 is on Car and Classic too, not related to this car in anyway. Here’s the link:

Hi could anyone confirm if a 1 metre length of 1.25” flexible heater duct from T7 is enough for a TR2 install please?
Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I have a couple of feelers out as I am trying initially to replace one piston and dashpot which got corroded due to the car being laid up. However in the meantime could you please have a look at the number cast inside the piston and confirm if it says 3284 as that is what I am looking for. The next question is what the condition of the pistons and dashpots are. If you were able to split them I'd prefer that and sell separately, if not it would depend on their useable condition as they are now.
Another possibility would be if you had a complete set of HS6 carbs as I am using a TR4A manifold.
People refer to contact via PM but I don't know what that means.

Both pistons are stamped AUC 3284, I wouldn’t want to split the set.
I would say the carbs need a full strip down and refurb. I have never used them and the previous owner had them sat on a shelf for sometime, originally removed from a TR3. I bought a refurbed set of HS6 carbs from Mr Turner which I will fit to my car.
