Thanks Roger and Niall.
Spent some of the day TRying to work out why my Surrey top won't fasten down at one rear corner popper.

Since the end of World War 2 the British Gov't have not been able to put a decent plan in progress for so many things
Where is the plan
Roger
The problem is Roger, that the great majority of politicians don't know the difference between a wish list and a plan. Unfortunately many voters are the same.

You'll also find that if you drive without it, as the speed increases the bonnet lifts until at 70 mph it's level with the top of the windscreen!
Apparently...

Excellent! Been advocating joint meets with the Tribe of Triumph for years!
But before my involvement with the 2021 Malvern show was aborted, I found that several other Triumph clubs, Pre-War and 2000/2500, hadn't been invited or even knew about it! I hope that as many other Triumph clubs will have the courtesy of an invitation for 2024!
I might even come along! Perhaps a disguise would be a good idea?
Nice photo John, what disguise were you considering?

Apparently the guy behind the company that bought it also owns a pub near me in Willey, The Sarah Mansfield, which was completely gutted inside within a couple of days of his purchase.

Yes, why wouldn't you try, you know, Carb Cleaner? It's a mix of solvents designed for just that job.

I didn't find it to work very well. Cellulose thinners did.

Check the terminals on the back of the stalk switch can't short together. I put a piece of fibre insulation over the back of the switch after a short-circuit engaged the o/d in reverse.
A break in the wiring would prevent the o/d from being selected.

TRy acetone, or cellulose thinners.

Your not allowed in the yards round here now for H&S reasons. Staff go and get what you want or its already on the shelf.
Stuart.
Same in most round here, but there is one where you can pay £5 before you go into the yard, which is credited agains any purchases you make over that value.

It wouldn't take much if the buildings were full of methane.

Any chance of a photo?

Well, sold privately, buyer states that it won't open as a pub again, then catches fire a month later...
The restaurant at the back had to be evacuated occasionally when the methane monitors detected high levels of gas from the mines underneath. Might that have something to do with it?

The Crooked House in Himley used to be a great pub, but it was sold to a private buyer last month and has now burned down. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-66421163
I used to have fun taking visitors there when working in Kingswinford. There are a few surfaces that look as if they slope up but actually slope down, so if you knew the place it was easy to win a bet on which way a marble will roll!

Yes, sorry, I meant REACH, but I was involved in the drafting of RoHS so it comes to mind more easily!

I thought hexavalent chromium had been banned many years ago under ROHS?

£27.50 per day then? Ouch! I'm pleased I don't need to go to London any more.

Does the ULEX fee apply in addition to the congestion charge?

Is the starter drive jammed, so the hissing sound is the engine turning the starter motor?

The BMW E46 window motor has a very handy stub axle to attach things to. Cheap as well.

Not waterproof though!

I'd try to match it to the interior trim of the backlight.

My original visors that came with the car were badly stained with what seemed to be underseal (!), and after spending many hours trying to clean them I bought a can of vinyl paint which covered the staining. I needn't have bothered though as they're pretty useless as visors - too narrow.

Drinking-and-driving was not considered a serious crime until the 1960s and seat belts didn't appear until the 1980s.
I think you have those dates transposed John. My Mum's 1966 Chamois was fitted with seatbelts from the factory. Drink-driving was socially acceptable through the seventies and well into the eighties, although illegal since 1925.
