Thanks Stuart
putting the tub back on a new, to this car, replacement chassis so it’s all to be worked out from scratch

That’s a colossal amount of grease to end up there.
If the car is a solid axle then not too onerous to pull the driveshaft and change both the oil seal and if needed bearing.just undo lock tabs and six bolts on the back keep all the shims in the same order
my money would be on over enthusiastic greasing of the nipple on the end of the axle
what’s the other side like?

I've seen this here before, but have tried and cant now find it.
Anyone rattle off the body tub back onto the chassis sequence?
I'm thinking must start with the four square body mounts to outriggers?

Hi Emrys,
I have altered the title of your thread to, hopefully find you better targeted replies, and
to help other posters in the future.
I do hope this is OK with yourself?
Regards
John.

If just started is it a new clutch?
Is snatch a single event as the pedal is raised or does it feel like it is jerking as the pedal comes up?
If new clutch then consider the dowel bolts that locate the engine and gear box have not been fitted
Lubrication has been covered above.
my thoughts exactly

Just wondering, do the addition of solar panels And
allied batteries in the loft increase house buildings and contents insurance by much?

Pretty much agree with all the negative comments here, and I think that in years to come, we,ll come
to see that parts availability for our cars, some quality issues aside, was pretty good.

it is a 28% A type, tested and guaranteed working no gearbox.
Had it years and I’m trying this year to have something of a bits rationisation exercise.

Not on the wing I have mine on the doors see photos in this thread
what I would say is where ever you fit the bullet mirror make sure the passenger side works for you
I couldn’t locate mine in any useful site so went for the Tex type

Just curious folks,
what would you say was a fair price for a 28% Stag A type working overdrive?
