the glass will fit all cars 4/4a/5/6. the winder mechanism and the steel channel that is fixed to the bottom of the glass is different between a 4&4a and the 5&6 . adjusting the stop will allow the glass to raise higher.

Many thanks for replying to this topic !!! And especially the archives, perhaps one of officers can take this forward and maybe we can raise some funds to pay a professional to do this for us . After all glen Hewitt managed to raise sponsorship from moss for jabbeke car perhaps we could get one of the others to do this????

Firstly was not trying to talk up values, market forces will always take care of that , besides anything is only worth what somebody is prepared to pay. With regards to the current owner I am sure you are correct on that one, only pushed the archive one as B P seemed to think it needed attending to

Given all that has been said in the above thread, is anybody going to try and action some of the points!! As BP said the archives need a proper archivist to make a full history of ST and this needs doing sooner than later , also the saving of what is after all THE FIRST TR must surely be a priority . As this car is equally as important as TS2 and the jabbeke car and far more valuable

stainless look fantastic !!! however they do mark very easily , even fitting them with dirty hands shows , and after 12months you would probably have to take them off and have them polished on a wheel to get them back up to standard.

Italia body mounting points share some of the same body mounting points as a tr3a , the 2 at the front the 2 on the turret support to chassis bracket and the 2 in each footwell , the 4 outrigger brackets are tr3a but have been cut and mounted slightly higher, there are 2 extra bolt down points in the front of the boot , that go into some additional captive nuts within the chassis rails , then finally there are the 2 at the rear which are very slightly different , but using a smaller metric nut and bolt no alteration is required , although the rear end of the chassis is rolled up making it 10mm shorter,
Possibility there was 2 small tack welds at the very front ,,mine showed something there but was not joined when I removed my body

having forgot that my tr6 is now tax exempt under the latest exemption, i duly paid my money on line as normal. yesterday i was pleasantly suprised to receive a new log book with my details updated to historic vehicle plus a letter telling me the tax i had paid was being returned to my bank account.
perhaps i am just lucky
