After 3 years of delays due to the pandemic, the TR Register Car Club UK hosted the 2020 European TR Meeting and tour. The European Meeting attracted members of TR clubs from all across Europe with some 140 TRs in attendance.
The Ball Room
The delayed 2020 UK Meeting was held at the Chesford Grange Hotel near Coventry from Friday 1st September to Monday 4th September 2023. During the 3-night weekend, there were 2 full days of touring and visits to local attractions.
British Motor Museum
This included runs out across Oxfordshire to Charlecote Park, a steam train to Broadway, Chastleton House, and the British Motor Museum near Gaydon, where the latest TR25 concept car was on display alongside the original Jabbeke speed record TR2 from 1953.
Morris Dancers entertaining
Evening entertainment was arranged to enlighten and entertain our guests in UK culture with Morris dancers through to the Fab Four Beatles tribute band. It was a full celebration of the TR Register, uniting TR enthusiasts for over 50 years and 100 years of Triumph cars. The attendees were joined on their tour by TS2 driven by Leicester Group member, Brian Hardy.
Following the weekend, many attendees drove onward to the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells. Then from the 4th of September to the 8th of September 2023, they toured the stunning roads and wild scenery of mid-Wales, sampling the local hospitality along the way.
Beautiful drives through the Welsh valleys
A great time was had by all, a BIG THANKS to all the volunteers that made the event happen and run so smoothly.
The next TR European Meeting is on September 6th - 8th 2024 in Switzerland. It will be held at the Hotel Waldstatterhof, Brunnen, on the shores of the beautiful Lucerne, with a tour based in Tiefencastel, Lugano and Andermatt from the 8th - 13th of September 2024, watch out for further details.
