acaie
So the heater on my Grinnall V8 with a standard SD1 engine starts dripping coolant into the passenger footwell. As a temporary workround I bypass the heater with a bit of hose, and now I find that the engine temperature is markedly lower. Has anyone seen this before ? Has anyone any explanations? Motorsport Mickey
Al, The engine is benefitting from increased flow released from the tortuous heater constrictions. It shows the radiator of the car is working to order (remember temp in to temp out is normally only about 5 deg) but for it's effective cooling it requires enough heat laden water to be flowed to allow the heat exchanger (radiator ) to cool it down to the temp required. Invest in an upgraded heater core and check it's path to ensure no untoward constrictions. Mick Richards
