So once all the major bodywork build was complete, the guys could move on to preparing the car for spraying. The underside was prepared first.
Followed by filling and sanding of any obvious areas which needed attention on the upper bodyshell and several coats of high-build primer ready for the first rub-down in 400 grit.
Further rubbing down (a hell of a lot of it!!) and priming
… and FINALLY.. a bodyshell prepared and ready to go off to the bodyshop for final preparation and spraying.
The photographs above really don't illustrate the amount of time and painstaking effort that this stage took..!! There were many phone calls backwards and forwards from both Glen and Chis informing me of 'yet another' bit where they had started to rub down and found more sections that needed repairs!
