Continental Trip 2017

As previously notified, we are going to Bayeux in France with the option of a 4 or 5 night stay. This is proving to be very popular with 12 cars already booked (six cars for 5 nights and six cars for 4 nights).

There may still be a few rooms available and you will need to make your own hotel and ferry bookings. Here are the details again.

4 nights – 8^th to 12^th June 2017

5 nights – 8^th to 13^th June 2017.

Ferry – Newhaven/Dieppe crossing

Bayeux is approximately 130 miles from Dieppe.

Costs

This is likely to vary depending on who you book your hotel and ferry with and, obviously, length of your stay. However, here is an idea of costs though these are based on a couple of months ago and, I believe, may already have increased.

Hotel = 270 Euros (£228 approx) room only for 4 nights. N.B. This is for the "flexible" option i.e. cancel up to day of arrival without charge.

Breakfast = 79.2 Euros (£67 approx) for 2 persons over 4 nights.

Ferry = currently £98 for return on either 12^th or 13^th June.

You will find that there are options to pay in advance (but then you will lose your money if you have to cancel) or to pay on departure (in which case you will be able to cancel up to the day of arrival without incurring a charge). You can also book room only or include breakfast.

The Ferry

The ferry times we are going for are, out on the 09:00 from Newhaven and back on the 18:00 from Dieppe. This applies whether doing 4 or 5 nights. It's worth noting that some folk have managed to get a discount on the ferry (this applies if you are over 60) when making a 'phone booking.
