RED ROSE JULY BULLETIN
Hi everyone it’s that time again!
I can’t believe July is here already and with the much anticipated lifting of lockdown restrictions on the horizon there are hopefully still a few events to look forward to over the next few months.
As we go to press the details for this Sunday’s inter group run to Caernarfon Castle have now been finalised.
See below for details of the event and to find out where to meet up with other Red Rose members
TR Register North West Region: Stoke on Trent, North Wales, Red Rose, Cumbria plus a Group from ‘Devon TRs’
We are going to Caernarfon in North Wales to celebrate the (well almost!) Unlock down. - All TR Register members are welcome to join us: Sunday 4th July 2021 at Caernarfon Castle ‘Slate Quay Car Park’.
Each TR group will make their own way to Caernarfon for what will now have to be a ‘distanced’ gathering on the main car park adjacent to the Castle and Afon (River) Seiont, called the ‘Slate Quay Car Park’. Individual members are more than welcome to join us either on the run to and from, or perhaps meet us there. It’s up to you.
We anticipated that all the ‘Covid’ restrictions would have been lifted when we originally planned to run the event; however as we all know things have moved on, hence the delay in notifying people of the event.
We have been advised by the Register that we can run the event as long as we comply with all National and Local restrictions that apply in both England and Wales at the time.
We have agreed to do this and would respectfully ask that if you come along, please observe the regulations.
We are meeting in an outdoor space for which the regulations currently specify that no more than 30 people should gather in a group. It is a large car park and so we will be able to comply.
We will be there for about 1 to 2 hours before each group makes their own way home.
Individual members will be welcome to join any of the groups in their journey to and from the event.
Red Rose cars will be leaving Blakemere Village (Chester Road, Sandiway, Northwich, Cheshire CW8 2EB) at 9:30 for a cross country run to Rhug were there will be a short stop for refreshments before continuing on to Caernarfon via Snowdonia National Park and the spectacular Llanberis Pass arriving at Caernarfon Castle at one for lunch.

Lydiate Car Show 4th July CANCELLED!
Unfortunately this event has been cancelled but the organisers are hoping to hold it later in the year.
If we get any updates we will let you know.
Monday 5th July deadline for Tatton Tickets
If you would like to attend this year please make sure you have your tickets booked!
All entrants will need to provide name of entrant, current address, TR model, year and registration and which days you would like to attend.
Tickets are non transferable and will be allocated to the entered car.
For those who want to stay for the weekend camping is also available.
There will be a charge of £1 per entry to cover postage which can be paid at the event.

June News
Well the weather was certainly kind to us in June but sadly some much anticipated events had to be cancelled due to COVID restrictions not being lifted so not much activity to report.
However some of us did manage to get out and about with two rather familiar TR’s having a weekend in sunny Malvern and a few Red Rose members going to Lytham car show.
Upcoming Events
August Meeting at The Cock at Budworth
So after waiting for all these months we once again have to cancel our monthly meeting as it clashes with the International Weekend in Malvern.
We had thought of asking the pub if we could move it to the following weekend however that would clash with Tatton so the decision has been taken to wait until September.
Classic Shows
Classic Shows has the following events scheduled and there are more on their website classicshows.org along with details of how to gain entry.

- ·Sunday 25th July Bodrhyddan Hall
- ·Sunday 5th September Bodrhyddan Hall.
Tatton Park Classic Car Show
Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd August Tatton Park, Passion for Power Classic car Show – See above for booking details, closing date for booking 5th July.
TR International Weekend 13th-15th August
Despite the recent announcements I feel sure this event will be going ahead as planned albeit with the possibility of some restrictions still being in place. Fingers crossed though all restrictions may have been lifted by then.
All details for the weekend can be found on the TR Register website (accommodation is going fast so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment).
Ticket numbers are also limited so don’t delay in ordering yours.
NW Region 50th anniversary event and Oulton Park Gold Cup 28th- 30th August
At this moment in time we have no reason to suspect that our event will not go ahead as we had originally planned.
I have spoken to Chloe the events manager at the hotel and she has assured me our event can go ahead even if social distancing measures were still in place.
As it currently stands all restrictions will have been lifted before our event is due to take place so we will hopefully not have any problems.
Just to confirm once again those who booked last year have had their deposits carried over and the room rate will remain the same.
There are still 7 rooms available to book at the moment and the hotel has given us an extension for a few more weeks so if you would like to come and join us there is still time to book your room.
Please contact the hotel direct MacDonald Portal Hotel Golf and Spa 0344 8799082 then select the option for events and ask for Chloe who is the events manager and ask to book onto The TR Register Event.
The cost for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast is £169 for two people with a deposit of £50.00 required at the time of booking with the rest payable on checkout.
If you don’t wish to stay but would like to join us for the meal on the Sunday evening please email us. The cost is £25.00 per person for three courses and you will need to book in advance as once we have confirmed numbers and menu choices with the hotel we can’t add anyone else on.
I will email a menu to all those who are booked on for your choices at the end of July.
We are planning on having a raffle after our meal on the Sunday so can you all please have a rummage round to see if you have any unwanted gifts that you can donate ( new and unopened please).
We will probably have to collect any donations on the day.
Proposed Autumn leaves Run
We are hoping to have an Autumn Leaves this year and a suggestion has been put forward that we visit the recently opened Great British Car journey in Derbyshire.
If you think this is a good idea and would like to join us can you please email us so we can get an idea of interest and numbers.
