RED ROSE JULY BULLETIN
Mike Nugent - RIP
Mike Nugent,a long standing and much liked Red Rose member passed away in the early hours of the 26th June 2019 after a very unexpected and short illness.
Mike's Funeral will be held on the 8th July 2019 @ 1:40pm at Peel Green Crematorium, Eccles and then on to Worsley Golf Club.
The family have asked if any Red Rose members who can attend the funeral could go in their TR's in convoy with the hearse. If anyone would like to do this cars will be departing from Carriages Funeral Directors, 260 Liverpool Road, Eccles, M30 0SD at 1:20pm.
June Review - What a busy month June has been.
1StJune
The first day of June dawned bright and sunny for the Tatton car show but I believe hoods were up later in the day. Red Rose did us proud winning three Prizes! Jonathan got car of the day, Peter Marshland won best convertible and the Red Rose stand came third! Well done to all our winners!
2nd – 8th June
On the second of June nine cars took the roads for a trip to The Isle of Wight visiting Beaulieu on the way. Once we had negotiated boarding the ferry and arrived on the island we visited Osborne house and Ventnor Botanical Gardens. We were also very lucky to be given a guided driving tour by the only TR Register member on the island Paul "Pinky" White, Thank you to Pinky and his lovely wife for taking the time to show us things we wouldn't normally have seen.
Back on the mainland we drove through the New Forest and visited Bucklers Hard where we took a boat trip in the sunshine! Then it was on to The British motor museum on our last day.
The holiday was a huge success and everyone had a great time thanks to the sterling efforts of John and Jane Leleu who organised the whole trip. Thanks to both of them for all their hard work.
9th June
The ninth of June meeting was more a day of events, We started off the morning at The Antrobus Village Hall for The Big Boys Breakfast and car run where I think the whole village turned out to enjoy a cooked breakfast and a look at the cars!
Next on the itinerary for the day was our usual monthly meeting followed by a run down to the steam fair at The Lion Salt Works kindly co-ordinated by Keith Nutall
16th June
Five Red Rose cars took part in this year's Peaks and Dales run organised by the Hare and Hounds Classic car club covering around 80 miles and ending with a display at the Pavilion Gardens Buxton.
23rd June
Fifteen cars attended the Budworth Village festival on the 23rd of June, although one car didn't quite manage to make the event and is now looking like a contender for this year's broken spanner award. This was a new event for Red Rose and by all accounts proved to be a great day. Once again thanks to Keith Nutall for organising the event
24th June
Red Rose cars were at Lymm Transport festival on the 23rd June, an event which goes from strength to strength, with Michael Biddulph picking up the prize for best Triumph in his TR4A.
30TH – 31ST June
Red Rose cars ventured north of the border for the last weekend of June attending the Moffat Car Rally. A fabulous event with over 300 classic cars enjoying the Scottish countryside on the Saturday run followed by a static show on the Sunday.
Big thank you to Steve and everyone at the Clyde Valley group who made us very welcome and let us share their gazebo to shelter from the rain on the Sunday.
Well I said it was a busy month. Never let it be said there is nothing going on at Red Rose!

Red Rose meeting Sunday 14th July
There will be the usual banter and updates of all the forthcoming events over the next couple of months including updates on Car Fest, the International and arrangements for this year's Autumn Leaves run.
Meeting will start at the usual time, from 12 mid day with post meeting run departing around 2:30.

Car Fest Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire, 26th – 28th July 2019
TR Register Red Rose group have been accepted to be one of only two car clubs invited to display in the Vintage Village at this year's TR Fest North.
This year's attractions include the usual eclectic range of cars, food, drink, vintage fair and many other attractions plus The Jacksons, Tony Cristie, Beverly Knight, Johnny Marr, Jack Savoretti, Texas, Kaiser Chiefs, Ziggy Marley, Jools Holland and many more over the three days.
As previous years we will be limited to five cars per day with a variety of cars representing the marquee desirable on each day.
Cars must be on site from 7:30am with option to depart around 7:30pm or you can stay on for the evening's entertainment.
Cost per day per car (two occupants) is £52.00, a MASSIVE saving over an average day ticket cost of over £75.00 EACH.
This is a not to be missed opportunity to attend a premier car / music event at a heavily discounted rate whilst contributing to Children in Need.
Places will be allocated to ensure as wide a range of cars are on display on each of the three days as possible and registration is open to all TR Register members.

The Oulton Park Gold Cup 24th – 26th August
All TR Register Members are invited to join us for the weekend. Pre booking is required which covers the car and driver for free entry over the three days, passengers will be charged at the daily or weekend rate.
