RED ROSE SEPTEMBER BULLETIN

Well what a summer it has been! The weather has been glorious and here at Red Rose we have all certainly been making the most of it and getting out and about in our TR'S and even though the nights are now drawing in there is still lots to look forward to!

Autumn leaves run, quiz in November which David Rhodes has once again kindly agreed to do and a Christmas lunch at the December meeting (more details to follow)

Firstly on behalf of everyone at Red Rose I would like to say Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Roscoe! Hamish and Suzie tied the knot on the 14th July we wish them every happiness for the future and are looking forward to seeing the photos!

They weren't the only ones with a special occasion to celebrate in July though. Our former group leader Bob Eccles was 80 years young! Hard to believe I know! He tried to keep it quiet but we marked the occasion anyway by presenting him with a card a bottle of whiskey

Car Fest North was once again a great event. Thanks to Andrew Haywood for taking on the organisation once again. We attended on the Friday and the venue, weather, music and company all combined to make a brilliant day. Hopefully it will be back next year.

AUGUST REVIEW

August arrived and with it the main event for us TR Fest! Once again the weather was kind to us and a great day was had by all.

We started off in the morning with a run organised by Carole and Mike Buddulp then in the afternoon it was time for the hog roast and lots of cake! There was also tombola a raffle and lots of fun and games in the sun!

Thank you to everyone who supported the event by bringing their cars and cake! Thanks also to our team of volunteers who we literally couldn't have done the event without. All being well the Fest will be back in 2020!

We had cars in attendance at Tatton Park where we won 2nd best stand in the show! And we were also at Oulton Park for the Gold Cup where we joined TR forces with Stoke, Shropshire, Cumbria and North Wales groups making us the largest one make stand!

The Cock @ Budworth is proving to be an excellent venue for our monthly meetings and it was a full house once again in August. As well as the raffle and updates on future events Bob gave us news about the ongoing saga regarding the suspension of a register member which we sincerely hope is now coming to an amicable conclusion.

After the meeting a few cars went on a short run to Blakemere Craft Centre for an ice cream.

Our next meeting will be on Sunday 9th September at 12noon and Mike Biddulph has very kindly planned a run which will be revealed on the day!
