TR Action Report London Group presented for issue 295
As I write final preparations for our Christmas Party are well under way, venue booked traditional music intro quiz is nearly complete, feely bags being filled and photos being download. But what have we been up to lately well 26th November 16 cars descended on Crown Classic West London for Bacon Butties Tea/Coffee and most importantly a full Winter Health check. It was great to see both new and long standing members arrive with their babies Ron Neumez with his left hooker 4, John Headdon with his very powerful 4 Chris Orson in his Beautiful 6, Joe Galloway also in a rather fine 6. Nick & Maria Loizou with another gorgeous 6, Tony & Annette in yet another beautiful 6, also it was great to Simon Leifer with his very fine 5 and of course Andy Humphries return after all these years in his 6. Each and every car was checked over, topped up. Tightened up and pumped up each check was supposed to be about 20 minutes so 16 cars 2 a time 6 per hour should be done by 12, NO! we didn't finally finish till about 3.45pm, each check took a little longer! To be honest on a Twickenham Match day that was great, kick off had happened game was in play England whooping Australia roads clear yippee!! Crown Classics did us proud Jason & John worked like Trojans and a great time was had by all.
Earlier in the month a posse of London Group had an away day at the Birmingham NEC for the Classic Car Show. Most of us with either rucksacks or bags and plenty of cash for those anticipated negotiations. The Jabbeke Speed Trial car really was the star of the show though and we all enjoyed the tea /coffee and biscuits on the Register stand. The Classic Car Show in Birmingham really is a great place to pick up bargains, get sore feet, eat odd looking things, gaze and wonderful cars, meet up with old friends and have a thoroughly good day
In addition to the Christmas Party plans are also well advanced for the Brooklands New Year's Day gathering, SPA Classic, and other 2017 activities. Finally then, come and join us for a noggin and a natter over a beer, you are most welcome. You can find us on the first Thursday of every month at the Rose of York in Richmond or on the third Thursday at an alternative venue (keep an eye on the web site) - both start from about 9.00pm
