TR Lincs January 2022 Newsletter

TR Lincs January 2022 Newsletter

A belated Happy New TR Year to you all and let us hope it will be a "proper" year this time with the hope that we can see an end to restrictions and we just get on with life again as we used to!

I have finally managed to pull together the first issue of the 2022 TR Lincs Events Calendar, and you can download your own copy by clicking the link HERE. When you look at it you will see we have quite a few gaps unfortunately, particularly for our own local TR Lincs Sunday runs. I have asked on a number of occasions for volunteers to arrange a run but I'm afraid I have not been inundated with offers for 2022. If you would like to organise a local run or event then please consider it for April, July, September, October or November as we have nothing arranged for these months. It is the membership after all that makes the group work otherwise our cars just become garden ornaments. Please let me know if you can help via email.

TR Lincs @ TR Leicester Group Post Christmas Dinner

A few TR Linc'ers, by the kind invitation of Andy Holyoak joined the Leicestershire TR Group at their post Christmas bash held at The Millers in Sibson. We were made very welcome by our Leicestershire friends and the other visitors from Derby Dales and Chiltern Groups. The highlight was Julia Prebble winning the star prize in the raffle of a Makita 9" Angle Grinder. Julia remarked it was something she always wanted and is available for any metal fabrication needed on your TR or even just a manicure - well done Julia.

This is the ideal time to remind you of our very own dinner at Washingborough Hall on February 26th, there is still time for you to join in on the fun and enjoyment of meeting up with your fellow members in wonderful surroundings and great food. All the details you need can be found HERE.

Monthly Lunchtime Meets
Following the success of the lunchtime Christmas get together it was decided to have a monthly, low key lunch at various locations around the patch. The first one of these will be at the Woodcocks, Burton Waters, Saxilby Road, Lincoln LN1 2BE on Thursday 20th January. Aim to arrive by 12.30pm as there is no need to pre-order. Other lunchtime meets are signposted in the 2022 Events Calendar and more details of the venues will be sent out nearer the time.

Members News
I am pleased to announce another new member to our group this month, Graham Dyer from Boston joins us and returning to the group is David Lee from Cranwell. A big welcome to you both and we look forward to seeing you out and about with us soon.

And Finally
Keep an eye out on our Local Group page on the main TR Register Website for the latest news on up and coming events and don't forget our AGM in March. The AGM is your chance to have a say on how you want the group to operate and make sure that you get as much out of it as you wish to add to the enjoyment of our cars as well as electing your officers for the 2022/23 season.

Talking about our cars, the video below shows how cars have changed compared to how things used to be prior to ABS, TCS and all those other technical innovations we have today.

See you soon
