TR Lincs Christmas 2021 Newsletter

Merry Christmas everyone and let us hope that we get the chance to enjoy this year and that Omnicron doesn't get in the way of our celebrations.
There isn't much to say this late in the season but we did enjoy a nice lunchtime get-together at the Splash last week and we were treated really well and everyone had an enjoyable time (see pictures below), mainly due to the landlord getting me to undertake some odd exercises. Those of you who were there know what I mean!

Unfortunately the lunchtime meet planned for last Saturday had to be cancelled as we had very limited numbers wishing to attend. Maybe next year.

TR Lincs Annual Dinner - Washingborough Hall, February 26th 2022
There is still time for you to join the other 38 TR Linc'ers attending the dinner, don't be left out and to remind you the full details can be found HERE.

TR Lincs Annual General Meeting - Wragby Town Hall, Sunday 20th March 2022
Your chance to have your input into the running of the Lincolnshire Group and elect the officers for the 2022/23 season. As usual all positions are up for grabs and if you fancy taking on a role then now's the time to step forward. More details will be sent out with the official notice, agenda etc. later in the new year.

Members News
This month sees Jeffery Cupples moving out of our area. Jeff previously lived at Wood Enderby near Boston but has sought pastures new in East Leake, Leicestershire. I'm certain we will see Jeff again at our East Midlands combined group meet on the 6th/7th August 2022 at the Manifold Valley, Derbyshire.

And Finally
The future of the TR Register relies on ensuring our membership numbers remain healthy and the interest in the cars continues. Much as we hate to admit, we are all getting older and we need younger blood to ensure the clubs survival. You will all be aware of the TR Register Youth Group headed up by Charlie Crawshaw and the good work he is doing in prompting the younger car enthusiasts. He was instrumental creating the Tyre Festival bringing MG and Morris Minor club young people together under one event. The short video below is by another young man keen on prompting the classic car scene who has been participating in the pre-war Austin 7 club classic car loan scheme. The report is on his visit to the NEC Classic Car Showlast November and he picks out the TR Youth Group. It is interesting to hear Charlie's thoughts on how he believes the TR Register should go on. Charlie's piece is just over 1 minute into the video. if you have any thoughts on how we can attract the youngsters in to the TR Register then let me know.

All that remains for me to say now is have a great safe Christmas and a Happy New Year. Don't forget to volunteer to organise our own local TR Lincs Sunday runs.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
