Events coming up ………

May 12th– Tour of Lincs 100

I know there are a few TR Linc'ers booked on this run starting at Pennells Garden Centre at Lincoln. Sadly the limit of 100 cars has been reached but if you were unable to get on the run this year make sure you get on next year as they are well organised and all proceeds are in aid of charity. I'll be looking out for you on Sunday.

May 19th– TR6@50 Picnic at Wroxall Abbey

This month sees the 50 thanniversary of the launch of the TR6 in 1969. To celebrate the event the TR Register has teamed up with the pre-1940 Triumph Club to celebrate this event with a picnic and hog roast at Wroxall Abbey just to the north of Warwick. Full details of the event are available HERE.

The East Midlands group are meeting up at the Moto Donington Services at the junction of the M1 (J24) and the A453. Full details of the site are HERE.

The plan is to leave Donington Services at about 10.00am for a leisurely drive down to Wroxall Abbey. Don't forget to bring a picnic or get there early for the hog roast. All Triumphs are welcome especially TR6s. Looking forward to seeing you at Donington or Wroxall Abbey for those going directly there.

If you would like a commemorative rally plaque then they are available from the TR Shop HERE.

Round up of previous events......

Visit to Witham Oils, Lincoln

Our first official trip of 2019 saw 17 members visit the Lincoln facility of Witham Oils. The evening tour was kicked off by a very entertaining talk by the grandson of the founder Nigel Bottom CEO and assisted by the Richard Scarborough. Nigel talked through the history of the company founded on Brayford Wharf, hence the name Witham, back in 1921 ending up today with a business supplying over 5 million litres of oil annually throughout the world. The talk was followed by a tour of the factory following the journey of oil from delivery of the raw product, through testing and finally packaging. Nigel also reminded us of the range of classic oils that would suit our cars and is to launch shortly an on-line lubrication finder for all classic cars. On the whole a very informative visit and if you do go and buy some oil from the counter at Outer Circle Road don't forget to mention TR Lincs.

County Wheels Day, Revesby

Sunday 28th April saw the 5th running of the Lincolnshire County Wheels Day at the new venue of Revesby, Lincolnshire. This event, which coincides with the annual Drive It™ Day, is always popular and sees many classics out for the first time in the new season. As with any new venue there are some learning points but despite the less than ideal weather there were over 280 classics entered and everyone who attended had a great time. Look out for next years event which promises to be even better.

Finally ……

Here are some interesting tail-end charlies that you may or may not have seen before.
