TR Lincs September Report
Bonjour,
Welcome to the September edition of the TRLincs news. Getting very excited now for our trip to Brittany on Sunday 25th September, a little more on that later. Sadly our 2016 season is beginning to draw to a close and the sunny days are disappearing fast. We still have a few more outings scheduled so hopefully we can enjoy some dry days for the remainder of the year. We have had some great days out since the last newsletter and enjoyed some great weather allowing lots of top off motoring. I'm pleased that our monthly meetings at the Turnor Arms in Wragby are well attended and it was nice to see so many of you bringing the cars out on the warmer nights. That's enough from me for now, here's a round up of the last couple of events.Run to Middle Earth - August 21st
A fine and sunny day saw us all meet up at the Willows Garden Centre halfway between Caenby Corner and Market Rasen for the obligatory cup of coffee and Bacon buttie before setting off. A run through the north of the county of some 80+ miles saw us take in the delights of Caister, Binbrook, Market Rasen, Wickenby, Torksey and eventually endingat South Scarle where we all enjoyed a BBQ in glorious sunshine. A good day had by all I think.
Classic Racing, Cadwell Park - 18th September
The next TR Lincs event happens tomorrow (Sunday 25th) with our trip to Brittany and the meeting up with the Triumph Club de France who are hosting us during our stay on Vannes. Our resident tour guide, Derek Pywell has organised another full itinerary for us and we are all looking forward to a great week in France. Our next scheduled run is on the 9th of October hosted by Dave McDonald starting at Uncle Henry's Garden Centre and heading up through the north of the county. Further details of our forthcoming events are listed in the calendar of events that can be found here.
TR Register AGM
Just a reminder that the TR Register AGM will be held on Sunday 6th November at the Ardencote Hotel near Warwick. Full details are on the TR Register Website if you would like to attend. You will need to register your attendance though before the 25th October. If you can't attend don't forget voting for the officers will be available via the website from October 1st.
.......and Finally
I'm pleased to say our membership still continues to grow with Julian Wakeling from near Scampton joining us, welcome Julian. Let's make all our new members welcome and encourage them to take part in our events. Did you know we now have 75 TR Lincs registered members - can we make 100!
Sadly the 2016 season is fast drawing to a close and that list of jobs to do over the winter is beginning to grow but we now need to look towards 2017 and start planning our events. Over the next few weeks I am going to start pulling together the calendar with the events that we already know about. Here is a direct plea to all of you to put forward ideas for runs and visits that you think we would all enjoy. You don't have to organise it just share the idea. Mind you if you could organise a run that would be even better, it's not hard and great fun - come on let's keep the group active and those cars purring by getting out there.
Assuming we all get back from France in one piece I'll see you on the 9th October.
bien amicalement
Adrian
