Solo Round Britain’s Coastline in 25 days

Solo Round Britain’s Coastline in 25 days

I bet when you read the title, you thought what TR floats in the sea???

This WAS a coastline TRip, although in a 1962 TR4 and not at sea, but using coastal A & B roads as close to the sea as possible.

The committed LVG member who undertook this epic journey is Graham Teeson (mad as a box of frogs, but such a lovely man), who has a history of long driving expeditions in his life, most of which did away with the use of luxury hotels and were done under canvas. This TRip was no different and despite approaching 70 years of age, he used a one man tent every night (as I said “box of frogs”!!!!).

Graham undertook meticulous planning and calculated a route that measured 4940 miles, which exceeded 5000 by the time a few detours or wrong turnings were taken and all in 25 days. Searching the records, does not show anyone having done this previously, although someone did do something similar in a Morgan a few years back taking more main roads and direct routes a little inland.

Graham left home on 25th April, returning 25 days later to his start point on the East Coast.  The whole TRip was financed by Graham, with Carbon offset set up via the FBHVC. Graham is a big dog lover and decided to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind. As he says, you cannot cuddle a satnav, but a guide dog is a blind persons equivalent of a satnav and much much more.

Including Gift Aid over £5000 has been raised so far.  If you wish to sponsor Graham, his Just giving Website can be found at

A full report can be found in the LVG Newletter, “Trunnion” and TRaction is expecting to publish a serialised report across a few issues.
