LVG Christmas Meeting
Despite a fortnight of severe cold weather, 27 members and guests attended our traditional Christmas Lunch at our Club’s HQ, The Cock at Broom. Landlords Michelle & Nick always make us welcome (as long as you book your food in advance😉) and we had exclusive use of “The Barn”, which warmed up as the conversation flowed. It was great to hear that they have now received formal planning consent for the building (that has taken around 2 years!!) and the plan is to upgrade insulation and heating to make it a much nicer environment.
Following member feedback, we are now limiting the number of raffles, but being Christmas, we couldn’t let the meeting pass without running some kind of draw. A seasonal plant was purchased and names were placed in the hat, with Diana Marshall taking a very nice poinsettia home.
Thankfully the weather was due to break as we ate and true to expectations rain set in and as we left the temperatures were rising with the snow melting.
