LVG & Camb Followers do “Drive it Day”

The question of what to do and where a Group should go on Drive it Day, is always one that tests the grey cells, but this year it turned out to be an inspired destination choice, which together with wonderful Spring sunshine meant over 40 people had a day out to remember.

14 cars met at a garden centre near Cambridge and followed a tulip route down to Whitewebbs Transport Museum, where others who drove down independently, met up to explore this little jewel of a place. The Museum could not have been more welcoming, with dedicated TR parking,  discounted entry including tea & coffee on arrival, together with a Ukulele Band providing additional entertainment.  The Transport Agency did its best to confuse people with last minute diversions and road closures, but everyone arrived OK. After having a good mooch around, most people drove a mile down the road to the Robin Hood pub in Bottany Bay for a late Sunday Lunch, before departing individually for a drive home in the warm afternoon sunshine.

What to do next year ??? If you have any ideas, let the committee know as DiD is the start of the Classic Car season and it is great to get the year off in such a good way. Our Events are open to all, with members from LVG and Camb Followers being joined this time by an Essex Group member. Take a look at our Gallery for more photos of the day and if you like what you see, come and join us on our next TRip.
