A Bright Spark adds to West Green House Classic Show

A Bright Spark adds to West Green House Classic Show

The same weekend as The Drive In Classic at Bicester, West Green House held their now annual classic show in the beautiful ground of this lovely house.

The weather was good, and it attracted a number of classis including several KVG members in their cars, treating visitors to a TR2, TR4, TR4A TR6 and 2 Stags, certainly the 'Bright Spark' of the show was Daniel Loveless electric TR6 recently featured in the TR Action.

Daniel Loveless's Electric TR6

The electrification of the TR6 is with a 31kWh lithium battery from a low mileage Tesla Model X 100d which has the best power to weight ratio (kWh/Kg) in the market, the range will be circa 120 miles per charge, The TR6 has its own 6.6kWh charger on board via a type charger port under the TR6 bonnet so can use the current charging infrastructure.

The car is still in its testing phase and there will be a road teat published in a later TR Action issue.

Ian & Maureen Howatt's TR4

West Green House has a delightful series of walled gardens surrounding the charming 18th-century house. The garden has many original features including a grand water staircase, created by Marylyn Abbott, providing the focal point to the Nymphaeum fountain designed by Quinlan Terry.

Paul & Joyce Woodham's TR4A

By the house is a charming small topiary garden where water lilies flourish in small water tanks sunk in the ground. It runs up to a handsome aviary inhabited by unusual breeds of bantams and chickens. Beyond, are a dramatic new Persian water garden in a woodland glade, a newly restored lake, more follies and fancies, new walks and massive plantings of snowdrops, daffodils and fritillaries.

Certainly it was a great day out for all attendees and one to put in your calendar for next ear.
